Ticket Agents work at an Airline's ticket or baggage counter. They are the "Front Lines"of the Airline, greetig customers when they arrive at the Airport.Ticket Agents sell tickets in terminals. They use computers and manuals containing scheduling, boarding and rate information to plan routes and calculate ticket costs.They assist passengers with tagging luggage and baggage check in, ticketing, makes and/or changes reservations. They determine whether seating is available, answer customer inquiries and assists passengers to proper places for boarding.
They may also announce arrivals and departures and assist passengers in boarding .
Ticket agents must have the ability to work varied shifts and schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays and some overtime. Each airline has its own policy for such work schedules.
